Hi All-
I am having some wonderful films being shipped to me. Full length feature of the Rose. In Scope.
And Stereo. :)
Anyways...what is the cheapest method to get them to me? The seller said he was quoted 69 sterling for one feature...4 x 600ft.
Ideas?
Thanks!

I can't believe a Royal Mail parcel to the US of just a Super 8 feature costs that much. I ship hundreds of DVDs to the States every year and we've never shelled out that much. Perhaps the packaging is excessive and putting the weight right up whereas a film only needs to be in a cardboard box.

It might have just "tipped" over the cheap price (due to weight), as sometimes happens. Personally, when shipping to the UK, (or getting a package from the UK), these days I prefer to have it shipped for slightly more. After all, if I'm actually going to the UK to find a print, that I apparantly can't find here in the states, I want to be sure that it gets here, to me, in one piece and at least, in a timely manner.

Hey! Did I hear right? A super 8 scope feature of "The Rose"? I didn't know that this existed!? Yet another neat rarity!

When the weight of the parcel exceeds 2kgs with Royal Mail Air, then the price really does go up, as they will use Parcelfoce Global Priority/Express, which is an excellent service but not cheap (I think it is on par with other carriers, however).

4 x 600ft Super 8 would probably weigh in at 2.5kgs and the cost for that with Parcelforce Global Express (with insurance up to £300.00 and delivery to N.Y. in 1 day) would be £68.55.
