Mike, there is a BFCC coming up in October so if you're still selling then why not have a table?

Hello John, that is a thought. I don't want to get rid of everything though, just a few films and projectors that I'm unlikely to use so I shall see how it goes by advertising on here first. I'll stick the date on the calender though because it would be good to go along as a punter even if i don't have a table.

Can I assume there will be Scrumpy and Pasties on offer in the projection area at lunch time? ;)

Hi Mike.... that's quite the collection there. I sold my print of Lion King back in the late 90's and wish I hadn't. Have you made a decision on it, or is it gone?

Thanks,
Greg in Nashville

Hi Greg, there's been quite a bit of interest in the Lion King. But I'll let you know if it doesn't sell.

I shall be putting an advert or two on the for sale section on here shortly just need to check my prints as they haven't been viewed for some time and make a list.

Mike, it has been like 7 years ago you were travelling in New Zealand and you were running out of K40. I was in Fiji at that time and offered you some supply but you finally managed to find locall shop to buy films. Now I am in Toronto.

Anyway knowing you are MGM completish may I know if you also have the three reler which released on the last of the era such as "Viva las Vegas", "Formula", "Time machine" and "Cincinnati Kid"?

Secondly, any of your MGM digest printed on LPP ? I finally managed to get one reel and would like to know if others are available.

Good luck for your sale!

Hello Winbert

Good to hear from you. Yes, I remember running out of Kodachrome in New Zealand which was frustrating as I had left an extra ten reels in the fridge at home! It’s good to hear you’re in Toronto I have been there a couple of times and enjoyed my visits very much. I was there in January once and remember being impressed by the underground walkways joining everything up so you don’t have to venture out in to the snow and ice.

As regards the MGM three reelers, I have several of these but of the titles you mention I only have “The Formula”. I haven’t checked my films to see what stock they’re on I’m afraid so can’t really help you there.

On another note, I have several other bits I might be selling and would again appreciate advice about what prices I should be asking. Film wise I have Derann’s release of Grease in Scope with Stereo sound and Flash Gordon, again the full feature in Scope.

Also, I have a Sankyo Hi-Pro Zoom Lens. It’s New Old Stock in its box and cellophane wrapping having never been in a projector. These are good Lenses and I know they used to be quite sought after. Is that still the case?

I also have a pretty much complete collection of Movie Maker Magazines from 1968 to the end in about 1985? Is there a market at all for these? If anyone on here would like to make me an offer for them on the strict understanding that they are for collection only (!) I would be glad to hear from you.

I’ve had loads of enquiries about films since my original posting and have consequently been doing a lot of movie viewing in the spare bedroom. It’s the first time in about 7 years that I have set everything up and run feature flms, and I have to say I’ve been really enjoying it. I shall be sorry to see some of the films go, but will hold on to my digests as I was always far more likely to sit and watch a couple of digests than I would a whole feature. And of course I have a thing for packaging… ;)

Hi Mike
The Sankyo Hi Pro lens is indeed a sought-after item. There aren't many on the market as those that have them tend to hold onto them. A couple of years ago I'd have bitten your hand off to get it but I've since sold my 800.
At the time I was offered one for 300euro, so I guess they still fetch a high price.

-Mike

Thanks Mike, that's good to know. Mine is new in its box so I guess it should fetch a good price if people are still looking for them.

Thanks again

Mike

Hi Mike,

If Grease is in very good condition or near mint it could sell for around £350 or more judging by previous Ebay sales. The Derann print of Grease is highly sought after and rarely comes up for sale.
